WHEREAS, the Northern Arapaho Tribe (the “Tribe”) is a federally recognized Indian tribe; and

WHEREAS, the Northern Arapaho General Council is the supreme governing body of the Tribe; and

WHEREAS, the Tribe has the inherent authority to govern itself and elects the Northern Arapaho Business Council (“NABC”) as the governing body; and

WHEREAS, the NABC has the authority to set the Tribe's policies and procedures; and

WHEREAS, the NABC realizes the importance of preserving the Northern Arapaho Tribe's culture and ceremonies; and

WHEREAS, the NABC adopted Resolution No. 2004-8742 to support the efforts of the Intertribal Ceremonial and Cultural Protection Coalition's goals of protection and preservation of sacred prayer ways, ceremonies and the Native way of life, and

WHEREAS, in consultation with the Northern Arapaho Tribe's Ceremonial Elders and medical experts from the Wind River Family and Community Clinic, the NABC has established certain restrictions on Sundance this year to help protect participants and observers (collectively, “attendees") from contracting and spreading the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (“COVID-19"); and

WHEREAS, the restrictions must be strictly enforced in order to protect the Elders and all tribal members.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that NABC does hereby enact the following rules for all 2020 Sundance attendees:

NO attendee may have any symptoms of COVID19
Attendees must check in before entering the Sundance grounds; Participants (e.g., dancers, grandfathers, sponsors, runners, singers, drum groups, painters, and cooks) must have evidence of a negative COVID-19 test.dated June 22 to present
Attendees must wear a face mask at all times unless eating food or drinking beverages
Social distancing must be practiced at all times
NO vendors are allowed
NO food stands are allowed; including at or near Ethete Store’s old gas station
NO drugs or alcohol are allowed, including any attendee that is under the influence of drugs or alcohol;
NO fireworks are allowed
Curfew for youth and adults is in place while on Sundance grounds;
Attendees must remain at their camp and are not allowed to wander from camp to camp

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Sundance security will strictly enforce all rules and compliant individuals subject to removal from the Sundance grounds; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that NABC is authorized to approve this resolution by video conference, telephone call or electronic mail due to the ongoing State of Emergency over the Coronavirus pandemic declared in Resolution No. NABC 2020-1252; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution supersedes all previous resolutions and other actions of NABC to the extent there is a conflict, and

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that the Chairman and Co-Chairman are authorized to take all actions necessary to carry out this Resolution.

The undersigned, as Chairman of the Northern Arapaho Business Council, hereby certifies that the Northern Arapaho Business Council consists of six (6) members and that four (4) members were present constituting a quorum at a regular meeting of the Northern Arapaho Business Council held on July 6, 2020 and that the foregoing resolution was adopted by a vote of Four (4) members FOR. Zero (O) members AGAINST, Chairman voting, and that the foregoing resolution has not been rescinded or amended in any way

Remember to keep us in your prayers, all the relatives in the South & all those that live in other states.

Even though several people said I could not be here or there, they wasn't at the grounds. We are Arapaho.

Dang most are discouraged by the all the rules. I guess that's good it's not packed out.

The Northern Arapaho Tribal member COVID-19 relief stipend checks were mailed to all tribal members Tuesday, June 30, 2020, and is to be used to assist your response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Question whay do we do when we dont receive a check? Who can we call?

Who do I talk with if my child has not yet received one??
