Position: Field Technician

Program: Northern Arapaho Water & Sewer Department

Wage: $16.00-$18.00/hr. 40 hours/week

Opening: February 20, 2019           Closing: March 15, 2019

Position Summary: The Field Technician is responsible for reading water meters and recording the consumption of water for the Northern Arapaho Tribe’s Ethete Water System.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Ability to walk or drive along established routes to take readings of meter dials and must be able to operate tribally owned vehicles 

Read water meters and enter data in hand held computers 

Enter data collected into the software programs which include Abila and Sensus software programs 

Verify readings in cases where consumption appears to be abnormal and record possible reasons for fluctuations 

Inspect meters for unauthorized connections, defects, or damage 

Report maintenance or equipment problems to appropriate personnel (Water Operators)  Connect and disconnect water services at specific locations 

Ability to deliver door knockers to individual residential or commercial locations 

Collect deposits, payments, fees, and past due bills 

Record meter information from NAWSD Application 

Assist NAWSD with water breaks 

Summarize and interpret the data 

Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• High School diploma required

• Knowledge of computers and relevant software applications such as Word and Excel. Need ability to attend training for reading water meters and working with required software.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License

• Must be eligible to legally be employed in the US

• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations

• Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle records check
