The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) position requires expertise in all areas of business management, including but not limited to, managing key operating goals and objectives and financial goals and analysis. The CEO will manage all business operations of the Northern Arapaho Tribe’s non-gaming related businesses. The CEO will lead the overall direction, administration, and coordination of non-gaming related business activities, with the assistance of an executive team and the Board of Directors. The CEO shall be required to maintain the highest level of integrity, maintain a professional work environment in which all employees are treated with respect, motivate employees to achieve success, and maintain positive and professional image for the Tribe and all Tribal businesses. The CEO will serve as the business ambassador and strategist for The Tribe’s business operations and will be required to avoid any potential conflicts of interest.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive the communication of the Northern Arapaho Business’ mission/vision and objectives through all levels of each business
  • Assist in development of strategic business plans for each business, as well as updates as necessary
  • Develops long-term capital budgets aligned with the Tribe and the Board’s vision
  • Facilitate regular scheduled meetings with each business to ensure communication of operational efficiencies throughout the Northern Arapaho Tribe’s businesses and management team
  • Maintain appropriate staffing by interviewing, selecting, suggesting appropriate training, evaluating, promoting, and utilizing performance management as needed.
  • Review cost and operational efficiencies to enhance operational performance and growth
  • Drive the successful operational mission set forth by The Tribe’s business organization
  • Coordinate operational activities in accordance with the current business policies and objectives to promote and provide maximum long-term profit and return for The Tribe
  • Work closely with the executive team to align strategy and objectives with the Board’s policy goals and ensure maximized and sustainable revenue and employment for The Tribe.
  • Using business analytics, trends, forecasts, customer marketing, internal operational data, the CEO will develop, implement, review, and update strategy regularly.
  • Provide and present short-term and long-term performance and financial goals
  • Leads the development of the annual operating budgets with each business’ manager, including capital expenditures and improvements, with an emphasis on data and ROI
  • Regularly reviews and evaluates each business’ goals and evaluates operational performance, working with each business to improve performance and financial metrics
  • Provide regularly scheduled reports to the Northern Arapaho Business Council and the Board to review on a monthly basis

Operational Management:

  • Develop an analysis of operations and communicate suggestions for continuous improvements
  • Work with Northern Arapaho Businesses to ensure all reports, financial statements, applicable certificates, insurance or bonding, are properly kept and updated accordingly
  • Attend executive staff meetings and provide information complete and accurately
  • Work to develop key financial and operational transactions 
  • Prepare operational and industry reports for review
  • Provide operational support and direction to facilitate execution of strategic planning of short-term and long-term operational goals

Personnel Management:

  • Responsible for job performance evaluation of business managers
  • Give direction to maintain all sales systems, efficient sales procedures for product and services of Northern Arapaho Businesses
  • Provides support and leadership direction to Northern Arapaho business employees that report to the position
  • Ensures all Northern Arapaho Business employees receive fair and equitable treatment concerning their respective terms and conditions of employment

Financial Management:

  • Manages annual operating budget with aid of the Northern Arapaho Business managers
  • Prepares the annual operating budget with the support of Northern Arapaho Business managers
  • Continuously evaluates financial performance, suggests improvements, and aids in the implementation of innovative financial policies and procedures.
  • Ensure necessary internal controls are in place to safeguard the business assets
  • Evaluate business contracts to ensure applicable laws, regulations, and controls are followed
  • Hold accountable financial policies and procedures to ensure financial stability of the businesses


  • Must possess a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Organizational Development or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • 5-year experience managing Tribal Business Operations at a Director level or higher OR 7-years’ experience working in management of other business operations required
  • MUST have at least five (5) years of administrative and Fiscal responsibility
  • Possess leadership ability, organizational, and strategic abilities
  • Strong recruiting skills
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and insurable under the company’s insurance carrier
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and willing to be subject to random drug testing
  • Must pass an extensive background check
  • May not be an immediate family member of any member of the current Northern Arapaho Business Council or have any financial stake in any of the Tribal businesses.

Additional information:

  • Salary Range: Depending on Experience
  • Must be willing to relocate to Wyoming within 45 days of hire
  • Relocation stipend available

  • This position is not a safety sensitive position as defined by Title 24 of the Northern Arapaho Code
