Northern Arapaho Child Support

The Northern Arapaho Child Support Program (NACSP) is a comprehensive, tribally-operated IV-D program on the Wind River Indian Reservation that establishes paternity, sets support orders, and enforces financial and medical support for tribal children. Program Overview & History

• Launch: Authorized as a comprehensive program on October 1, 2008, following start-up funding in 2006.
• Governing Law: Operates under tribal regulations, including Title 10 of the Northern Arapaho Family Support Ordinance.
• Jurisdiction: Shares the Wind River Indian Reservation with the Eastern Shoshone Tribe, handling cases where tribal members reside within reservation boundaries or nearby jurisdiction parameters.

• Locating Parents: Tracks and finds non-custodial parents and alleged fathers.
• Paternity Establishment: Establishes legal fatherhood through voluntary acknowledgment or administrative/legal processes.
• Order Establishment: Calculates and sets child support and medical support obligations based on approved tribal guidelines.
• Enforcement & Modification: Enforces active support orders (such as income withholding) and modifies existing orders when family circumstances change.
